About our PPG

Washingborough Family Practice is pleased to inform all Patients that we now have a Patient Participation Group.

The group currently has only 6 members, so we are very keen to recruit new members. We meet once every month, so if you have a spare hour or two once every month, and are keen to become a part of our PPG then please ask a staff member for more details.

The PPG will work with the Practice to offer the Patients’ perspective on the services that we provide.

Minutes of the most recent meeting are as follows:

PPG Meeting 07.11.2025   2:00 – 3:00pm

Present: Tamra Clarke, John Day, Odette Read, Tony McCrudden

Apologies: Karen Herbert, Rosemarie Townsend

Discussion points:

Meeting room: PPG offered to help to declutter the room to create more space to enable a larger group of us to meet there.

Discussed recruiting new members – several people willing to join but difficulties recruiting younger people to get a broad cross-section.  Agreed to invite those with time to join and gather the views of younger people and people with families via surveys etc.

Setting up PPG Whatsapp group to make communication and arranging dates etc easier.

Also looking to use Whatsapp, going forward, for surveys to gather views. Would also like to gather the views of Young Carers and target support for them.  Need to look at ways of contacting etc and encouraging target groups to sign up for sharing their views.  Aim to use events such as surgery social to gather views and ideas.

JD enquired about possibilities of hosting targeted information evenings, eg: MSK team evening.  Discussed the idea of hosting various talks on different topics, such as strategies for mental health, lifestyle medicine, etc.  Ideas to be shared at a future meeting.
