About our PPG
Washingborough Family Practice is pleased to inform all Patients that we now have a Patient Participation Group.
The group currently has only 6 members, so we are very keen to recruit new members. We meet once every month, so if you have a spare hour or two once every month, and are keen to become a part of our PPG then please ask a staff member for more details.
The PPG will work with the Practice to offer the Patients’ perspective on the services that we provide.

John Day was nominated as Chair and voted in. Karen Herbert was nominated and voted in as Vice Chair.
PPG role/purpose
Group members would like clarification from the surgery as to what they feel our role/purpose is and what they would like us to be doing/covering. How can we support them.
PPGs generally - Not uncommon for PPGs to be unsure of their place/role/purpose.
How do we raise our profile with patients and encourage them to communicate their ideas/opinions/concerns with the PPG?
OR suggested Microsoft Forms as a way of people anonymously raising issues.
Could also reassure anyone who wants to communicate by email that their details will remain anonymous.
Lots of discussion about how we engage the patient community and what our role is. Good clear information on practice website, so all going to look at that between now and next meeting and discuss the various points in upcoming meetings, perhaps one or two at a time, to decide how we will address each point.
PPG Notice Board
How current is it? Is it accessible for people? What is communicated on there? Is it in the best place to get people’s attention.
How is the website updated – current minutes are almost a year out of date.
Social events
Surgery Social booked for Saturday 30th January 2027, 1-4pm (Hall - 12:00-5:00).
Need to name it Washingborough Patient Community Social and make it clear it covers Washingborough, Heighington and Branston patients.
OR to contact Sheepwash Times to advertise.
John Day to contact John Grant, saxophonist.
OR to contact Blokes that Sing.
Would ideally like to do a carers’ coffee morning this year. Looking at first two weeks of Christmas.
OR has emailed Parish Council to check hall availability. If available, will try to arrange; if not, will look at other dates in new year.
